18-year-old man from Pittsfield suffers serious gunshot wounds

Pittsfield Police responded to the area of ​​3 Brierwood Lane for multiple reports of a shooting around 5:00 p.m. Tuesday. En route, patrol units were made aware of a motor vehicle accident on Pecks Road related to the shooting incident.

Police are investigating both scenes…

Members of the Pittsfield Police Patrol Division, Detective Bureau, Crime Scene Unit, Narcotics Unit and Crime Unit responded to both scenes. A shooting was confirmed to have taken place in the area of ​​3 Brierwood Lane and the victim was en route to BMC in a private vehicle.

An 18-year-old man with gunshot wounds was found at a second location…

Units responding to the Pecks Road accident found the driver of the vehicle, an 18-year-old man from Pittsfield, with gunshot wounds. The Pittsfield Fire Department and Action Ambulance responded to the scene.

The victim was transported to Berkshire Medical Center and is in critical but stable condition. Detectives and investigators from the Pittsfield Police Department have handled the scene and surveillance of the area is being reviewed. A second vehicle involved has been located and is in custody. The Pittsfield Police Department has no reason to believe the general public is in danger.

Mutual aid requested…

During this investigation, the full resources of the Pittsfield Police Department were engaged. Assistance was requested. Members of the Massachusetts State Police, Lenox Police Department and Lee Police Department assisted in the investigation and responded to calls for additional duty from the city. The incident remains an active investigation.
