Actor Kevin Pollak visits Stew Leonard’s in Norwalk
NORWALK, CT – Actor Kevin Pollak recently stopped by Stew Leonard’s in Norwalk to express his love for pizza cupcakes and even nabbed some of the store’s famous free samples!
Meghan Bell, the store’s public relations manager, confirmed that the ‘Wonderful Mrs. Maisel’ actor visited the Norwalk store on April 25 to promote The Pizza Cupcake, a new product the store is selling in which Pollak is an investor.
In a short video, Pollak can be seen standing with Chase Leonard, daughter of store owner Stew Leonard Jr., expressing her excitement about the product available at Stews.
“[I’m] venture into Stew Leonard’s for the first time, and what do I find? Pizza cupcake,” Pollak said in the video. “The best treat anytime, day or night; 12 minutes from the freezer to eat. I can’t get enough of pizza cupcakes.”
Pollak then followed up with an impersonation of “Pulp Fiction” actor Christopher Walken and urged customers to “go to Stew Leonard for everything, but don’t forget: cupcake pizza.”
The video also included a brief shot of Pollak heading further into the store after picking up some pizza cupcake samples.
According to the store’s website, Pollak had never been to Stew Leonard’s stores before his April 25 visit, but said the Westport Avenue store “blew his mind.”
The Pizza Cupcake was recently made available in select Northeast grocery stores starting in November. The product’s website promises customers a flaky exterior and cheesy interior, delivering a tasty gourmet snack all around.
Bell noted that the product had already been a hit with shoppers at the store.
Pollak starred in a number of acclaimed films, including “A Few Good Men,” “Grumpy Old Men,” “The Usual Suspects,” and director Martin Scorsese’s “Casino.” He is also a regular cast member of Amazon’s popular comedy-drama television series “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” starring Rachel Brosnahan and Tony Shalhoub.
In addition to Norwalk, Stew Leonard’s has stores in Danbury and Newington, as well as multiple locations in New York City. Last summer, the store announced plans for a major renovation project proposed for the Norwalk flagship location.
Pollak isn’t the first celebrity to be spotted at a Stew Leonard’s store. In June, Emmy-winning actor Bryan Cranston visited Stew Leonard’s Wines & Spirits of Norwalk to meet customers and promote his new mezcal line, Dos Hombres.
