Birds of Prey Star isn’t sure if Black Canary movie will return

A Black canary the film is officially in development at HBO Max, featuring the return of Jurnee Smollett as the character she first starred in Birds of prey. With Smollett’s role already on lock, fans have speculated on the potential Birds of prey costars who could join the Lovecraft Country alumnus of the HBO Max Original feature film.
For those hoping to see Mary Elizabeth Winstead’s Huntress in the movie, you might not want to hold your breath. According to the actor, she has yet to be in contact with Warner Brothers regarding her appearance in the Black canary solo movie.
“I am super excited by the Black canary movie. I love Jurnee, I love the job she’s done and can’t wait to see what they do with it, âWinstead said recently. Collider. âI have no idea what other characters are potentially going to be involved. I don’t know if Huntress is going to continue one way or another. You know there are so many different iterations of Huntress whatsoever. in the comics or on TV and in the movies, and so I don’t know if my version of her is going to continue. But, I love her and if there was an opportunity to do that, then I would be willing to do it, then we’ll see! “
Earlier this month, Winstead told ComicBook.com’s Patrick Cavanaugh that she was “down for everything” regarding Huntress and her character’s return.
“I’m ready for anything, really,” Winstead explained at the time. âI think Huntress is such a fun character, I don’t know if there are any plans in the future to continue this version of Huntress, because there are a few different versions out there, in the comics there has different versions so I don’t know if that’s what lies ahead. But I’m glad I had the chance to do at least one iteration of her and if that iteration continues I would love to. be a part, but we’ll see what happens. “
The Black canary the solo movie has yet to set a release date with HBO Max.
