As they rightly say, “fame is fickle”. We have witnessed the power of fame as a friend and as an enemy. Being at the top of the triangle in Hollywood is an ongoing, painstaking process and doesn’t always work for everyone. But then, as always, “there’s light at the end of the tunnel,” and just like that, these movies gave their careers a resurrection and saved them. Here is a list of films that have saved acting careers.

The gorgeous JLo has appeared in many movies. But around 2010, she saw her downfall as an actress. Fans and critics alike didn’t like the movies, and they ended up getting bad reviews and bad reviews from critics. Movies like Gigli, maids in Manhattan, and Plan B got bad grades and we thought his career was over. But this movie, Scammers, not only saved his career, but it earned him a Global Globe nomination.
2. Natalie Portman in V for Vendetta
The actress struggled to erase the impression of the role in the Star Wars prequel is gone. However, it didn’t take just one movie to get its new and different roles. The first movie that started to take him in the right direction was Cold mountain. However, his role in V for Vendetta gave her what she thrived for, and she didn’t stop after. Its role in Black Swan in 2005, she even won him an Oscar for best actress. It was one of those films that saved the acting career.
3. John Travolta in pulp Fiction
The actor caused a sensation in the 70s and saw his career at its height. He delivered box office hits like Carrie, Saturday night fever, and Fat. However, we saw a downfall in his career in the 80s. What happened next is history because he reappeared in the classic. Pulp Fiction. His performance in the film was above average and he deserved a good role after a long period of struggle.
4. Robert Downey Jr in Iron Man
Robert Downey Jr was in his prime when he saw the worst fall ever. He lost many opportunities due to his drug addiction and going back and forth to prison for drug possession. We all thought it was for him, but he got the golden opportunity dressed in armor (if you know what I mean!). The director of the film, Jon Favreau, knew that only he was suitable for the role. And the rest is history!
5. Michael Keaton in Birdman
The actor has given big hits with his appreciable acting after being seen in Batman and Beetlejuice. But after its crash, it was completely gone from the movies for almost two decades. However, his comeback has been quite spectacular. We have seen it giving a shattering performance in Birdman, which earned him an Oscar nomination. We saw him later in 2017 as Vulture in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
6. Keanu Reeves in John wick
Who can forget the breathtaking performance he gave The matrix? The film and the actor were a sensation for a very long time and still are. But what everyone thought the actor would accomplish didn’t materialize. The movies that came later didn’t gain as much business, and its graph went down, only until John Wick. The film and his performance are legendary and they brought him back into the business.
7. Robert Pattinson in Good time
The Twilight Saga gave us all a teenage idol. He caused a sensation during the film series. There must be hardly anyone who doesn’t know who Robert Pattinson is. However, the film led to crippling in his career and gave him the label of a “teen star”. He struggled a lot to establish himself more than that, and it showed him his downfall. He finally came out in 2017 with a smashing performance in a negative role in Good time. After watching the film, there was no longer any doubt about his versatility and ability to do more. He was part of several projects like Tenet, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, the Lighthouse, etc. We will also see it in and as The batman in 2022.
8. Reese Witherspoon in Wild
Who doesn’t remember Elle Woods The revenge of a blonde? The film was very popular and was loved by many. She even won an Oscar for her performance in Walk the line. But all of these films led her image to be an actress who can only be seen in romcoms. She was determined to change that, and she did it with her own production company called Pacific Standard. The film, Wild, was based on the memoir of Cheryl Strayed, and it received positive reviews. This film shows her true potential and proves that she can do much more than a romantic comedy.
9. Drew Barrymore in Scream
The actress is well known to everyone, and her life story is also no secret. She started her career very early, in her childhood, and achieved tremendous success and fame at a very young age. But fame and fame did not turn out to be her friend. She took a road and went through a painful spiral of drug addiction, childhood disorder and rehabilitation. Despite all the difficulties, the actress decided to take it entirely on her own terms and re-establish herself in the industry with a calmer state of mind.
