Here’s why you can’t leave Disney’s new Star Wars hotel

If you are a Star Wars fan who is dying to stay at Disney’s new resort based on the film series, you must read this before you book.

First off, the Star Wars: Galatic Cruiser Hotel is still under construction and won’t be ready until next year; therefore you cannot make a reservation yet. This gives you more time to decide whether or not you want to stay there, because get ready for this one: you cannot leave the hotel once you have checked in.

Listen to Diana Tyler’s Nights on 92.7 WOBM and download our free 92.7 WOBM app.

I first read this news on Yahoo Life and was honestly a little freaked out. Check out the reasoning behind this, in the article:

The hotel is anything but a vacation – in fact, you are even given a spatial communicator that looks like a cell phone for “resistance meetings”. Similar to an escape room, you have to stay until the experience is over (you’ll be in space, after all), so get ready for 60 fun (and possibly grueling) hours.

Basically, it’s more of an experience than a hotel stay. Which sounds pretty cool and all, but I just can’t help myself.

Star Wars is a special movie for people of all ages. I was at Disney recently and saw that the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge part of Hollywood Disney Studios was packed – and the whole park was determined to take the new Rise of the Resistance ride (which was AMAZING, at the made). I understand that Disney might be imposing this rule on Star Wars: Galactic Cruiser Hotel to keep the crowds down, but imagine how confusing it must be for a kid to go to Disney World, check in at their hotel, and then of not being able to do it. visit the parks?

Here’s another thing I disagree with: the price. Yahoo Life notes that a stay can cost around $ 1,400 for a mandatory 3 day / 2 night stay. Let’s say you want to enjoy a few days in the parks – now you’ll need to add another hotel stay and park tickets too!

Listen, while the rooms are beautiful, and I’m sure it’s an unforgettable experience, I don’t think it’s for me. What do you think of the rules for Star Wars: Galactic Cruiser Hotel? Are you still anxious to stay after learning that you can’t leave, or will you pass on that experience?
