Jennifer Blood meets William Shakespeare?! Van Lente Channels The Bard For A Dark Spinoff Tale

After her recent run on the exciting new Jennifer Blood series and the next planned Ninjetetteswriter Fred VanLente takes out her hitman antagonist on her own with the help of the bard. Jennifer Blood Presents: Giulietta Romeo: Hitman is a heart-pounding one-shot featuring the breakout character fans have been crying out for more of.

Slamming its way out of the pages of the recent Jennifer Blood: Bloodlines series, Italian assassin Giulietta Romeo stars in “La Tempesta,” a dark reimagining of William Shakespeare’s play Storm. Giulietta is extradited to Italy after the events of the “Bountiful” storyline when her plane is shot down over a remote island in the Atlantic, a former Nazi stronghold that is now the small kingdom of a man named Prospero, a former Duke of the Crowds of Naples. Her brother, the man who usurped her position, was extradited on that same plane, and Giulietta finds herself in the middle of a bloody vendetta and fighting for her life against the monstrous minions of Prospero, Caliban and Ariel.

“I think all readers are going to absolutely love 2022’s Hot New Crime Writer, William “Bloody Billy” Shakespeare,” Van Lente joked. “I’m just the vessel that brings the island mafia’s La Tempesta revenge saga to life.”

Jennifer Blood was originally the creation of Garth Ennis and told the story of Jessica Blute, who was born into a brutal crime family and tried to escape it by faking her own death. But when her new life was destroyed by the mob, she took on the guise of Jennifer Blood for revenge. In the recent relaunch of the series by Van Lente and Vincenzo Federici, the title and the carnage was passed on to a new generation as a new Jennifer Blood took the town of Bountiful where the worst of the mob were protected after having joined witness protection. Giulietta Romeo was the main antagonist in the new Jennifer Blood and is now getting her own one-shot.

Jennifer Blood Presents: Giulietta Romeo: Hitman can be pre-ordered in October at your local comic book store and is scheduled for release in December 2022. It will also be available on digital platforms such as Comixology, Kindle, iBooks, Google Play, Dynamite Digital, ComicsPlus, and more!

Superstar Dan Jurgens rocks out with the lord of the jungle!
Comics Royalty reintroduces Lord Greystoke in time for the 110th anniversary

The powerfull lord of the jungle comes back to roar! Dynamite invites fans to swing through the vines and beat their chests in anticipation of a visceral new series starring the one and only Tarzan, written by the industry superstar Dan Jurgens!

lord of the jungle

Created by Edgar Rice Burroughs and featured in the October 1912 issue of The All-Story Magazine, Tarzan quickly became a cultural icon! Jurgens is coming to help commemorate the 110th anniversary of this iconic character! But that’s not the only anniversary this first issue will commemorate.

November’s first title aligns almost perfectly with the grand 30th anniversary of Superman’s death, one of the crowning glory of writer Dan Jurgens and the industry at large. Since then, he’s tackled many iconic characters from the medium and larger genre of superheroes, pulp heroes, and adventurers. His bibliography stacked beyond his prolific contributions to Superman includes the likes of Batman, Captain America, Spider Man, Thor, green arrow, The Green Lantern, night wing, grave robber, and of course his own Booster Gold creation. Now is the time to add another legend to this list: the Lord of the Jungle!

“There are a handful of fictional characters that are instantly recognizable across a wide range of countries, for people of all ages. Tarzan is one of those characters, and it’s an honor to write his final stories,” he said. said Jurgens. “The creator of Tarzan, Edgar Rice Burroughs created one of the greatest of all time and gave those of us who came later a deep and rich legacy to work from. We can’t wait to explore Tarzan’s hidden past that might put him in a new light. We hope you’ll join us for the ride and have as much fun as we did.

Along with the artist Benito Gallego, Jurgens will restore Tarzan to longtime fans and show how badass and entertaining he is for new readers. Throughout the series, the prototypical jungle action hero’s entire life will be traced, from birth to adulthood. A sub-narrative of the framing device weaves in between the main story, as an older Tarzan reflects on his life and the changing world around him, reflecting contemporary concerns that endure to this day.

Learn about Tarzan’s heritage, from his aristocratic origins and eventual flirtations with that lifestyle, to his ape-raised beginnings and fearsome rivalries with man and beast. What will become of this man in his wild world?

Dan Jurgens invites readers to encounter the legend for the first time or as they’ve never seen him before. As he follows in the footsteps of comics luminaries Hal Foster, Burne Hogarth, Gaylord Du Bois, Jesse Marsh, Russ Manning, Gray Morrow, Joe Kubert, John Buscema and many more.

The series features an all-star cast of Jurgens’ friends and fellow cover artists, including Gary Frank, Lee Weeks, Dan Panosian, and Josh Burns.

“I have known Dan for 30 years and have worked with him on many levels. I’ve wanted to work with him at Dynamite as a writer for years, but he’s had a full workload, and last year he’s been working to find time for The Lord of the Jungle, and we’re so excited to have him on board!” Barrucci said. “Although Dan is best known for his work on Superman, Captain America, gold booster and others he has tackled many more characters in his illustrious career. When Dan launched grave robber for Top Cow it was the No. 1 book of the year – let me repeat, grave robber Number 1 was the top title of the year and Dan was a driving force. His storytelling ability is one of the strongest in the industry, and when working with other artists, Dan has brought out the best in those artists he has worked with, from his great run on Thor with John Romita Jr., Andy Kubert, Stuart Immonen, to name just one example. Dan brings his A-game, since he knows no other game to bring, and will bring the best of Benito Gallego’s art to the page. And speaking for a moment of Benito, a fantastic artist influenced by John Buscema, we couldn’t have chosen a better artist for the series! The icing on the cake are covers of Gary Frank, Lee Weeks, Dan Panosian and Josh Burns!

lord of the jungle #1 will be available for pre-order in September and is slated for release in November. It will also be available for purchase by individual customers through digital platforms courtesy of Comixology, Kindle, iBooks, Google Play, Dynamite Digital, ComicsPlus, and more.
