Life on the line, Grease and Pulp Fiction star John Travolta was spotted at Fakenham Morrisons buying a beef tenderloin while filming new movie ‘The Shepherd’
Staff at Morrisons in Fakenham were shocked to see American film star John Travolta in the aisles as he walked in for a steak.
Gary Middleton, a store security guard, snapped a photo with the 68-year-old actor.
Mr Middleton, who says his favorite John Travolta film is the iconic 1978 musical Grease, didn’t “think it was him” at first.
He said: “I honestly didn’t think it was him, but he held out his hand to greet me when I walked up to him.
“We exchanged a few words and a joke and took the picture, he’s a great guy and a real pleasure to meet, he seemed like such an easy going person and I left the store with a great buzz.”
Other Morrisons staff had the chance to snap a photo with the superstar before he went for a burger at Dereham Wetherspoons.
Nicola Gee, who works at Morrisons, has also seen the Pulp Fiction star.
She said: “Wow what a crazy day at work – it was just a normal shift and in the afternoon I looked up and saw John Travolta shopping in our store!
“We started to wonder if it was really him and what a total shock to see a movie megastar in Norfolk.
“Growing up, I remember watching Grease, Pulp Fiction and Face Off and never expecting to meet him in person, especially at work.
“All of the staff, including myself, were excited and wanted the opportunity to take a photo with him, so we went to ask him and he accepted much to my delight.
“He was very nice – definitely a memory to cherish.”
John Travolta is in Norfolk and Suffolk filming ‘The Shepherd’, a film adaptation of Frederick Forsyth’s novel based at RAF Lakenheath.
The novel tells the story of a De Havilland Vampire pilot, returning home on Christmas Eve 1957, whose plane suffers complete electrical failure en route from RAF Celle in northern Germany to RAF Lakenheath in the Suffolk.
Lost in the fog over the North Sea and running out of fuel, he encounters a De Havilland Mosquito fighter-bomber, who has apparently been sent to guide him.
Travolta took a day off from filming yesterday to celebrate daughter Ella’s 22nd birthday with afternoon tea and posted a sweet message on social media site Instagram.
The doting dad said, “Happy birthday to my dearest Ella! I love you so much.
“We’re here in England to celebrate afternoon tea and I’m also here to shoot a short called ‘The Shepherd’ which I’ve always loved.”
