NINJAK # 1 Re-Reboot Comic unveiled and previewed by Valiant
Everyone remembers Ninjak (aka: Colin King) from the original Valiant comics in the 90s? Well, Valiant Entertainment remembers, mainly because they are the rebranded successors to the original after Acclaim’s bankruptcy. As such, they own the rights to Ninjak and have every right to create a reboot comic. Or rather, another reboot comic.
Valiant Entertainment officially announces another reboot of Ninjak. This particular reboot is from writer Jeff Parker and artist Javier Pulido. This particular iteration of Ninjak presents Colin King on the run after a leak revealed the identity of every MI6 agent in the world, including his own. So, he embarks on a globe-trotting adventure to escape the people who chase him. Or maybe, to take turns hunting his hunters. Guess we’ll just have to see what’s wrong when Ninjak # 1 will be launched on July 14, 2021. You can pre-order the first issue at your local comic book store, so check it out if you are interested.
As to why Valiant is doing another reboot of Ninjak, Jeff Parker commented on this during an interview with Hollywood journalist. Apparently, they feel the time has come to restart in this current climate. In one way or another. Parker’s specific words on the subject were:
I feel like we’re tapping into a mood that’s right for the times and issues that concern us all. Colin King’s new challenge takes him all over the world, and I think we’re all set to experience that – if not fighting legendary hitmen and upgraded fighters.
Ninjak: The restart
It is not just the announcement of the Ninjak restart that Valiant shows us today. They also have 7 pages of Ninjak # 1 as a little teaser of what’s to come. To be clear, 2 of the images are double-page, so they count as 2 pages for a total of 7. Check them out below:
