Some fans think the “Pulp Fiction” parody in Season 7, Episode 21 (“22 Shorts About Springfield”) is one of the best the show has ever done. In the entrance, Chief Clancy Wiggum (Hank Azaria) and his officers have a conversation similar to that between Jules Winnfield (Samuel L. Jackson) and Vincent Vega (John Travolta) about Big Macs in France. The part where Butch Coolidge (Bruce Willis) hits Marcellus Wallace (Ving Rhames) with his car is played between Snake (Azaria) and Chief Wiggum, and they end up meeting in the Military Antique store owned by Herman Hermann (Harry Shearer), who ties them up and waits for Zed.

Asked by u/Unlikely-Fun-2220 in the r/TheSimpsons community on Reddit about the show’s movie parodies, many fans said their favorite was the Quentin Tarantino movie homage. Several users mentioned their favorite quotes, like u/Astartes400000, who showed love for the donut song that Chief Wiggum sings, and u/samsquanch2000, who posted Herman’s line from the actual movie, “We looks like the spider has caught a fly.” Meanwhile, u/Emergency_Ad2487 simply said, “One of their best episodes.”

These fans aren’t the only ones loving “22 Shorts About Springfield.” Entertainment Weekly placed the episode at number 14 on their ranking of “The Simpsons” episodes in 2003 and wrote, “If that’s not enough, it gets stuck in a priceless parody of ‘Pulp Fiction,’ filled with a discussion nuanced on the difference between Krusty Burger and McDonald’s.”
