The Indescribable Truth of Dr. Fate from DC Comics
The Helmet of Fate has passed through many hands over the years. One of them, Hector Hall, is connected to all kinds of other superheroes and changed the course of one of the most popular, less superhero-oriented comics DC has ever released. .
He first appeared in Infinity Inc as the son of Hawkman and Hawkwoman, who adopted his own superidentity as Silver Scarab. He married Wonder Woman’s daughter Lyta Hall and then died in Infinity Inc. No. 44, but he returned to the Dream Dimension in # 49, succeeding Garret Sanford as Jack kirbySandman’s version, King of Dreams (coming soon to a Netflix near you), and taking Lyta to her kingdom.
Sand n ° 11 reveals that Hector’s nightmarish sidekicks, Brute and Glob, are in fact manipulating him to create their own kingdom in a boy’s mind. The real ruler of Dreaming is not happy. In # 12, he sends Hector to the land of the dead, sends Lyta back to earth and steals their child, Daniel – who, born inside the Dream, has enormous power. Sandman lives to regret it: in the cordially storyline, Lyta brings down the Mythological Furies on the Sandman’s head, ultimately killing him, and Daniel becomes the new Lord of Dreams.
Hector would come back to life in JSA #ten, reincarnated as a baby from Hawk and Dove. A magical gem called the Scarabaeus brings him back to adulthood, and he takes on a third superidentity: Dr. Fate.
